UR Responds to Obama on Obamacare

mrz072209dAPR20090722023317On July 21 President Obama delivered yet another canned speech in his string of appearances and speeches promoting his attempt at nationalized health-care.  A health-care reform package that is unwanted by the American people and quickly becoming so unpopular – even amongst his fellow Democrats – that the One, himself, must descend from mount Olympus, summon of his dwindling political clout, and stump for it.  It is only natural that in the face of the precipitous fall in Obamacare’s popularity that the Man-Child return to the campaign trail – campaigning is his strong suit – after all, it is the only job that Obama has held for more than a year. Tyranny Is Around Every Corner

sheep&shepherd

In this age of the Nanny State and hyper-regulation, when the federal government is expanding at an unprecedented rate with unfathomable speed it is more important than ever before to recall the words of Thomas Jefferson  Jefferson, who eloquently warned us against the very beast with which we are now grappling when he wrote Read the rest of this entry »

Arctic Fox Outfoxes ‘em All

palinbearOn July 3rd Sarah Palin stunned the nation with her announcement that she not only would not seek reelection as Governor of Alaska, but that she would also be resigning at the end of the month.  The unexpected move has had the media in a tizzy and the blogosphere on fire with theories and predictions as to Palin’s political future.  For the last three days I have sat back and enjoyed the delicious frenzy as politicos and pundits proclaimed her doom or 2012 Presidential run. UR Rebuts Friedman’s Climate Change Idiocy

capandtaxThomas Friedman, an Op-Ed columnist for the New York Times, is pushing for the passage of what he admits is a bad climate change bill – the Waxman-Markey Cap and Trade bill.  Like other climate change “believers” Friedman seems to think that it is a good and helpful idea to tax carbon and kill the economy in the name of the rain forests or something.  Unbeknown to him, climate change is nothing more than a hoax or a bad joke with a worse punchline… Kind of like Friedman. Happy Birthday America

800px-declaration_independenceOn July 4, 1776 our founding fathers grabbed history by the horns and steered it towards life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for their future generations.  By declaring America’s independence they ended – for American’s – lifetimes of tyranny and oppression… but also began years of blood shed and war.  It is on this day every year that we honor the sacrifices of the dedicated and brave who so valiantly struggled, fought and shed their blood for the liberty of future generations.  We honor those brave civilians and militia-men who took up arms in order to cast off the chains of an oppressive crown by celebrating the legacy that they left us.  A legacy of freedom, opportunity, liberty and of American exceptionalism. Precisely What is Wrong on Capital Hill

rep-henry-waxman-400x267With typical political flourish Henry Waxman highlights an attitude and tactic that demonstrates precisely what is wrong with Capital Hill.  On June 26 Waxman pulled a fast one.  He slipped a more than 300 page amendment at 3 a.m. to the Cap and Trade bill – which passed the house by a nose.  He did not rush the amendment in at 3 a.m. because of dire circumstance… he did it for the very same reason that members of Congress have been doing it (in both parties) for years.  So that no one would have a chance to read, review and counter it.  Subverting, without care, the process of debate and checks and balances.  Subverting, intentionally, the right of the people to know what laws our representatives are attempting to pass.  He did so with the express intention of ramming something that would otherwise not pass down the collective throats of the American people.
