Happy 234th, Marines. Semper Fi!

marinesbirthdayImage2On this day in 1775 (also known as the 8th day) in a small tavern in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a committee of the Continental Congress drafted an historical resolution – one that would forever change the nature of warfare, tilting the tables in favor of the United States in virtually every conflict and war since.

There, in Tun Tavern – a fitting birth place – a committee of the Continental Congress drafted a resolution to create two battalions of Continental Marines. These two small contingents of warriors would eventually swell in ranks and number and acquire a well-deserved reputation as the fiercest, bravest, strongest fighters since the days of Caesar’s Roman Legions:  the United States Marine Corps. My Apologies

Dear Readers,

As am I sure you have noticed there has been no new content posted in quite some time here at the Uncanned Response.  You have my apologies.  Unfortunately, my site was blocked at work due to a possibly malicious site that shares my host server.  This has prevented me from being able to post the high quality articles that you are all used to – and deserve.  I easily could have taken 15 minutes while at home (as that seems to be all of the time that I have when I’m home) to slop something up… but you all deserve and rightfully expect better.

The good news is that I have now gotten my site unblocked and am able to once again supply you all with your regular dosage of the uncanned, unfiltered, and unapologetic conservatism that you need to help you get through the troubling times in our country – as our president, congress and left-wing media attempt to shove this republic into a liberal oligarchy.

You have my humble apologies for the technical troubles and lack of new articles.

Best Regards,

Max Barron.

Further Proof That the Nobel Peace Prize is Meaningless Now

obama1It’s all over the news this morning.  The Man-Child president, The One, has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize only nine months after taking his oath of office.  It is important to also note that he would have had to have been nominated after having only been in office for less than two weeks.  Can anyone else smell the politicization here?  What could the Man-Child have accomplished in such a short period of time to merit the Nobel Peace Prize, aside from distributing mass quantities of Obama Kool-Aide and Hopium to the punch drunk, clueless, and gullible masses?  The simple answer is absolutely nothing. Counseling Privately… Requires a Meeting.

Stanley_A_McChrystal_2009_ACU

It is interesting – if not surprising – that in the wake of General McChrystal’s public declaration that more troops and supplies were needed in Afghanistan to ensure the success of our mission, the talking heads and empty suits who occupy the president’s inner circle of advisers have sharply admonished General McChrystal for doing so.

Bad enough it makes the president look bad – we can’t have that – but worse, it puts public pressure on his administration to take action – and by action I don’t mean giving speeches or campaigning in Copenhagen. Read the rest of this entry »

The Politics of Spite: UR Responds

krugman090421Left wing columnist extraordinaire Paul Krugman’s recent opinion piece for the ever famous liberal rag, The New York Times, entitled “The Politics of Spite” is another myopic and tunnel-visioned article not fit for the toilet paper that the infamous Grey Lady is printed on.  In it, Krugman predictably targets Republicans as nothing more than spiteful children and seeks to convince the gullible masses – that still actually read the NY Slimes – that Republicans are the only unreasonable and cut throat party in D.C.  It is only natural that an ignorant left wing ideologue conflates Conservatives with Republicans and refuses to acknowledge the vitriolic bile and unadulterated  hatred that the left hurls at its opponents. Suprise! Iran Has Secret Nuke Facility

Obama_Surprised

So…Iran announced it is working on a second nuclear facility. Well, well, well. That comes as no surprise to the educated and rational among us. We said all along that Iran is not being forthright about its nuclear program, which is clearly aimed at producing nuclear weapons and not peaceful energy.

The New York Times broke the story about Iran’s secret nuclear enrichment facility in Qum which has the capacity for 3,000 centrifuges.

Obama, who was briefed on this facility prior to his inauguration, is quoted as stating that “the size and type of this facility is inconsistent with that of a peaceful facility.” Read the rest of this entry »

Medicare For All – The Health Care Silver Bullet?

ScrewedHealthCareSymbolGeorge McGovern wrote a piece for the Washington Post throwing his support behind a more simplified version of universal health care.  A for of public option that has become more and more prevalent amongst the left – as they have discovered that the only way that they are passing HR3200 is by cheating the system.  That solution is the universalizing of Medicare.  While this idea is far more simplistic than the Rube Goldberg like HR3200 it poses just as many problems – namely the implausibility of it actually working. The Vultures Have Come

edward-kennedy-404_671871cSenator Ted “The Driver” Kennedy’s body had barely assumed room temperature before the Democrat feeding frenzy began – almost as if the proverbial circling vultures weren’t so proverbial but more literal.  The Chappaquiddick bi-athlete had barely begun the long swim to the pearly gates for summary judgment when his fellow statists began calling for the passage of HR 3200 as a memorial to the crowned king of liberal Camelot.  Being the scavenger birds of the political realm that they are, the vulture like liberal Democrats quickly began feasting on Kennedy’s corpse – politically, not literally.  Read the rest of this entry »
